Ski along Folgefonna is a great but demanding 2-days hike. Hike starts in Jondal and end in Rosendal, accommodation in DNT cabin.

About the hike

2-days skiing hike, with accommodation at Bergen Turlag's cabin Fonnabu (or Holmaskjer), we have over 30 years of experience arranging this hike. The first day it is 10 hours hiking, and the second day it is 12 hours hiking before we are down in Rosendal. At the Barony or tourist hotel in Rosendal, it is possible to end the trip with good food and good beds. Maybe there is a concert at the Barony you can join.. If you do not live in the region you should set aside 4 days for this hike. An overnight stay before and after the actual ski trip.

Lars Petter (LPJ)

Lars Petter has one bachelor’s degree in Outdoor Leadership and just finished his second in nursing. At the same time, he works as a photographer and therefor almost all ways bring his camera on big and small adventures. What better combination of professions could you ever wish for when searching for a guide?

Julian

Julian has been grown up with Folgefonna. He simply love to show the guest the best of Folgefonna, he find great routes in the blue ice and are probably one of the best guides we have to find new ice tunnels!

Hans Bertin

From his kitchen-window, he has a direct view to Folgefonna. Being a local, who loves the mountains, glaciers, forests and fjords, it has been a dream to have Folgefonna as a worksite for more than 15 years.

Åsmund

Åsmund has been working on the glacier since he was 14 years old, this is long enough to have seen the glacier actually were growing in the 90's. Fascination for this landscape never stop and he has realized Folgefonna will be in his heart rest of his life.

Lars Petter (LPL)

Trønder who fell in love with the mountains in Western Norway and the area around Folgefonna, and thus did not return since. Thrives in steep terrain both summer and winter. Always positive.
