Glaciers are among the world's most important climate indicators, as their size and extent respond directly to changes in climate. Today, the climate is changing, and the effects are clearly visible on Folgefonna. For those of us who work on and around the glacier every day, it is both dramatic and humbling to witness how fast and how extensively these changes are taking place.

We are in the middle of the great blue ice season on Folgefonna. Nowadays we find new art in the ice every day, and the Blue Ice Hike is a totally different tour now than in May when we still had a lot of snow.
